[A]ll the faithful of Christ of whatever rank or status, are called to the fullness of the Christian life and to the perfection of charity; by this holiness as such a more human manner of living is promoted in this earthly society. In order that the faithful may reach this perfection, they must use their strength accordingly as they have received it, as a gift from Christ.
In the run-up to the Jubilee in 2000, Pope John Paul II used his Apostolic Letter Novo Millennio Ineunte to re-iterate that holiness is not only a state but a task, whereby all Christians should strive for a full Christian life, imitating Christ, the Son of God, who gave his life for God and for his neighbor. St. John Bosco Schools is committed to supporting this universal call to holiness of all members of the Catholic Church in faithfulness to the Magisterium.
A priority is given to helping each student develop a personal relationship with God, using those means provided by our Lord Jesus Christ ministering through the Church which He has founded. In addition to the greatest aid in the development of this personal relationship, Holy Mass, the School also devotes a portion of each day to religious instruction of the students in faithfulness to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Upon graduation, all students will possess basic knowledge and understanding of the principles of our Faith.
Yet our Catholic identity extends beyond attendance at Mass and the recitation of prayers. It permeates every dimension of life at the School, from the commitment to excellence (spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical and professional), to the orderliness of the physical plant, to the dress of students, to the general cheerfulness of the faculty and staff.
